How to transfer symbol library files to iCMTGIS II or iGPSGIS II

If you have used PC-GIS PRO 09 to create new symbols (such as the terrain features for orienteering) by modifying a number of symbols in one of the CMT customizable library files (e.g. Forestry 1), then you can transfer the .lib files that start with CMT from the PC-GIS program folder to your iPAD so that the new symbols are available for use in iCMTGIS II or iGPSGIS II. The procedure is as follows:

1. Terminate iCMTGIS II or iGPSGIS II.

The steps for terminating the application is described in our 8/24/11 blog post.

Do not restart the application at this point.

2. Use iTunes to load all the .lib files from the PCGIS9 program folder to the iCMTGIS II or iGPSGIS II application’s Document folder.

3. Run iCMTGIS II or iGPSGIS II to restart it. The new symbols should now be available.

Additionally, you could save your TOPIC setup in PC-GIS PRO 09 as a .pmp job file and transfer it to your iCMTGIS II or iGPSGIS II. Then you do not need to redo the Topic symbol assignment in iCMTGIS II or iGPSGIS II.
