Can I use iCMTGIS II to edit a polygon after importing Shapefiles?

Moving a node to a different position

Yes, you can import Shapefiles into the iCMTGIS II, iGPS GIS II or Utility Data Collection app, edit the position of a Point Feature or the shape of a Line or Area Feature (polygon), then export the changed Features in Shapefile format.

One way to change the position of a Point Feature or a node on a Line or Area Feature is to select the Feature then call up the Feature Properties screen and edit the coordinates of the node.

Another way is to highlight the Feature then use the Mode Node tool to move the selected node to a new position.

You can use any of our apps that provide the Feature Properties or the Move Node function to change the position of a Point Feature or a node on an Area Feature. Some examples are: Area – Distance, Stakeout iCMT, Farming GPS GIS and Forester GPS GIS. These app save data in .pmp format but do not export Shapefiles. Farming GPS GIS and Forester GPS GIS will import Shapefiles and export Feature data in DXF format.
