Antenna Height

“I’ve been recommending iCMTGIS II to some RTK users. Two issues: 1. There’s no where to enter antenna height. 2. There’s no where to define the incoming GPS datum. For example, if they are using a RTK base that is tied to ITRF08 yet there working map is in NAD83/2011 (same as CORS96 except for epoch date). Are you working on solutions for these two areas?”

We will soon release the iCMTGIS III, which will provide the ability to specify Antenna Height and incoming GPS datum for GPS data collection.

With the current iCMTGIS II, users could use the Offset function to enter the antenna height as follows:

1) Tap the “No Offset” button.
2) Select Left or Right offset type.
3) Enter “-90” degrees for Slope Angle.
4) Enter the antenna height as the Slope Distance value.

With iCMTGIS II 1.1.3, which will be released soon, users could make use of the new Distance input mode of the Offset function to enter the antenna height as follows:

1) Tap the “No Offset” button.
2) Select Left or Right offset type.
3) Select “Distance” input mode.
4) Leave the Horizontal Distance at 0, if no horizontal offset is needed.
5) Enter the antenna height as a negative Vertical Distance value.
