Saving a master job file in a CMT GPS/GIS app

Many of you collect the same types of GPS/GIS data at different job sites or at different times for the same job location. With the CMT iOS apps that provide the Feature List functionality, you can save time by setting up a Feature List that covers the types of Features that you use on a regular basis. You can associate such a Feature List with any of your GPS/GIS data collection job files.

A number of the CMT iOS apps will also let you define one or more Feature Topic layers. Suppose you have added several Feature Topic layers to a .pmp job file and have set up the symbol/pattern and color for each layer. If you would like to use the same Topic layer setup for other jobs, what you could do is to save a job with this setup but without any collected data as a master job file under an easily recognizable file name (*.pmp). Then to start a new data collection job, you would first open the master .pmp job file then save it under a new job name for the new data collection task.

With the Wetland – Stakeout app, you could save a data collection form containing just the standard user information (e.g. County , State) to a master .pmp job file for later use. In addition, you can save a modified form design as a new template (without data) for your own use or to share with other users.
