Do the CMT GPS GIS apps function differently on iPhone versus iPad?

Because of the difference in screen size, the layout (location of the functions) are different in a number of places for the iPad and iPhone versions of a universal app. The iPad version can work in landscape and portrait mode. The iPhone version only works in portrait mode. For some apps there may be one or two sub-functions that the iPhone version does not support.

Have a happy and productive 2019!

iCMTGIS PRO updated to Release 1.0.9

In iCMTGIS PRO Release 1.0.9 the icons at the top are shifted so they won’t run into the controls on the iPhone X, iPhone R, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max devices.

We have also enhanced the text file import and export functions. Whereas text file import was limited to importing text files ending in .txt, now the user may choose the .txt or the .csv file name extension. For text file export, instead of exporting all of the Attributes for the Topic, the app now provides a dialog to let the user select specific Attributes to be exported.

What is the difference between the iPhone and the iPad versions of your GPS GIS app?

iCMTGIS II is for use with the iPad, while iGPSGIS II is for use with the iPhone. Both apps provide the same GPS/GIS data collection functionality.

iCMTGIS II makes use of the larger screen of the iPad and can be used in both the portrait and landscape modes. iGPSGIS II works only in the portrait mode.

With the larger screen of the iPad, more information can be displayed on the same screen, whereas with the iPhone app, additional taps on the screen may be necessary to get to another screen to display the additional information.

You could run iGPSGIS II on iPad, but you won’t be able to run iCMTGIS II on iPhone.
