“First—wondering how to delete jobs in cmtgis pro is I can start over fresh. Just go to iTunes and delete the files in the file sharing are??? Same with Features. Not sure how to edit or delete features in the feature list or edit attributes once the feature has been created.”

How do I delete a .dcf file?

There are a few ways to get rid of a file that you no longer need to use with your app (such as Stakeout iCMT, Deed Calls & Stakeout, Partition & Stakeout, Forester GPSGIS II/III, Farming GPS/GIS II/III, iGPSGIS II, iCMTGIS II/III/PRO, etc.).

1. To use iTunes, first connect the device with your PC. Select your device then click on “Apps” under the Device name. Scroll down to the Documents folder for the app. Select the file name then click the Delete key on your keyboard.

2. If you are out in the field and don’t have access to your PC, you could overwrite the unwanted file with a new one. To overwrite a .pmp Job file, create a new Job file then use the Save As function to save it with the same name as that of the unwanted Job file. To overwrite a .dcf file, use the Create Deed Calls function to make a new deed plot then use the Save As button on the Calls page to save it with the same name as that of the unwanted deed calls file.

3. If your app provides the FTP function, then when you select that function, you will see a list of the files in the app’s Document folder or in Cloud storage, depending on whether you have marked the “on Cloud” check box. Select the file or files you wish to delete, then tap the “Delete” button on the left side.

How do you delete a job in iCMTGIS III?

You can do that via iTunes or ftp as iCMTGIS III supports ftp file transfer. (iCMTGIS II, iGPSGIS II, Utility Data Collection, Farming GPS GIS III and Forester GPS GIS III also provide ftp functionality.)

1. To use iTunes, connect the device with your PC.

Select your device then click on “Apps” under the Device name.
Scroll down to the Documents folder for the app.
Select the job name then click the Delete key on your keyboard.

2. FTP connection requires a FTP server and a ftp client. If you have PC-GIS X, you could use the FTP Server function on its Utilities menu to make the ftp connection.

To access the FTP function, select Main Menu of the iOS app, select Job, then select FTP.

If you just want to delete a file from the app, you do not need to establish ftp connection.
Simply mark the file you wish to delete then tap the Delete button in the FTP Dialog.

If you wish to transfer files, then enter the IP address of the ftp site you want to connect to.
If a user name and password for accessing the ftp site is required then enter them into the corresponding boxes. For an FTP site that provides anonymous FTP access, simply mark the Anonymous check box, and the User Name will be automatically filled in with “anonymous”.

You may select the FTP Path and have it point to the desired folder on the PC. The files on the iPad and the files on the ftp site will be listed separately.

I can’t find a way to delete old unwanted Deed Calls files.

To delete files, please connect your iPad to your computer and sync it with iTunes.
Tap on Apps for the iPad then scroll down all the way to see the Documents folders.
Select the Documents folder for the Deed Calls app and you will see all the data files.
Click on the file you wish to delete then press the Delete button on your computer.

Make sure you really want to delete the file. Once a file is deleted, it cannot be recovered.
