Error: Number of shapes does not match number of table records.

“When exporting shapefiles in iCMTGISIII I keep getting the error message – ‘the number of shapes does not match the number of table records’. … The message pops up in ArcMap and ArcGIS when I try to add the shapefiles. It pops up for all of the shapefiles exported (wetland flags, stream flags, etc.). The exact same data file exported as kml loads into ArcGIS just fine.”

We obtained the .pmp file from the user and exported the Shapefiles, which imported properly into ArcGIS. One of the Topic layers in the Job file did not appear to contain any Features. It is possible that there was an issue with that Topic layer. The article at the following link to the ESRI support site helps to shed some light on this issue:
